Takween was founded in 2013 as a Literary & Cultural project in Kuwait, specializing in creative writing. It gradually spread its arena to include a composition library working on publications, a creative writing platform and a junior composition program. Today, Takween is a major contributor to societal and cultural transformation trough the power of questions, words, and ideas. Through its initiatives such as the Arabic Reader Award it keeps on promoting analytical reading as a means to transform indoctrination into discovery, teaching into learning, ignorance into awareness, information acceptance into questioning and questioning to research.
